The Program on Medical History, Ethics & Politics (MHEP) at the American University of Beirut’s Faculty of Medicine is an interdisciplinary initiative that promotes critical dialogue between the Global South and North on the historical, ethical, and policy dimensions of medicine and health. Bringing together scholars, medical professionals, clinicians, and students, it tackles urgent issues such as climate change, pandemics, migration, war, and AI-driven change, and reimagines the ethical and social responsibilities of medicine in a rapidly evolving world.
