Abstract:
Distributed uplink scheduling in CDMA systems is considered. Mobiles are allowed more autonomy in making transmission decisions in a scenario based on probabilistic on-off scheduling with and without token bucket constraints. The system model with omnidirectional antennas is generalized to the case where adaptive antennas are deployed at the base stations. Uniform linear antenna arrays with varying number of elements are proposed and their performance is compared to the omnidirectional case, showing substantial throughput gains. © 2008 IEEE.
