Abstract:
In this paper, a new method for exact calculation of the directivity of Chebyshev and modified Chebyshev arrays is presented. It makes use of Chebyshev polynomials and puts the integral in the denominator of the directivity expression into a form that is solved later. Although it does not provide a closed form expression, this method is mostly useful for studying the variations of directivity against varied sidelobe level, inter-element spacing and inter-element phase shift for any given number of elements. ©2004 IEEE.
