Abstract:
A new single layer meta-material lens design with frequency-dependent focal points is investigated. In the proposed design, the surface of the single layer dielectric material is divided into zones in the same plane with perforations of different specifications. The focal point for each frequency is achieved through varying the permittivity coefficient of each zone. The variation of the permittivity of each zone is based on the changes of the perforations' specifications in the dielectric material. The paper presents a conceptual design of a lens with two zones; each zone is optimized for a specific frequency. The design can be optimized to provide several focal points, each for a specific frequency, meeting pre-defined size constraints.
