Abstract:
The two researchers investigated and studied Badr al-Din al-Ghazi's journey, entitled al-Maṭāliʻ al-Badrīyah fī al-manāzil al-Rūmīyah, through two manuscripts. The first full manuscript is preserved in the library of Köprülü in Istanbul, while the second is incomplete and located in the British Museum in London. This study highlights several axes, including the history of Turkish-Arab relations and the literary value of the journey recorded in the Saj‘ prose, in addition to providing a wonderful description of places and nature. It should be noted that this study gives us abundant information about the scientists and dignitaries whom Badr al-Din al-Ghazi met on his journey, such as Sheikh Imam Abu Abdullah Muhammad Shams al-Din al-Khanajiri al-Shafi'i and others.
