Archival documents and records, whether new or old, are extremely important in writing history. Consulting the Ottoman archives is a necessity when writing about countries that were part of the Ottoman Empire. Dr. Abu Hasayn has collected and translated thousands of Ottoman documents related to the Hauran region of Syria in order to discuss an important historical period when the Druze played a major role in its development. |
