Abstract:
The beneficial effects of exercise on metabolic, cardiac and pulmonary diseases are clearly explained and documented in the literature; they are at the core of numerous international guidelines. Most of the patients suffering from such diseases are treated by many medications. Thus, understanding the mechanisms of action and adverse drug reactions is not enough to determine the optimal treatment or rehabilitation program. Knowledge of drug-exercise interactions is an absolute necessity when managing patients within a multidisciplinary team and a clinical reasoning strategy. © 2017 Elsevier Masson SAS
