Testing for the causal relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in Lebanon -
Abstract
The objective will be to use econometric testing to search for a relation between the two variables energy consumption and economic growth in Lebanon. The thesis will build on the work done by Dagher and Yacoubian (2012), and use econometric testing, namely Granger VECM, Hsiao, Toda-Yamamoto as well as ARDL of Pesaran et al. (1997) in order to search for a relationship between both variables, thereby coming up with policy conclusions regarding energy policy in Lebanon.
