Abstract

This consultation meeting was conducted as part of the Land Degradation Neutrality for Mountain Landscapes project, funded by GEF (Global Environment Facility) and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Lebanon in partnership with the Ministry of Environment (MoE), the American University of Beirut – Nature Conservation Center (AUB-NCC) organized a series of expert roundtables in its offices in Beirut in August 2023. The four roundtables looking into: a. Water & Wastewater, b. Land Degradation, Solid Waste and Quarries c. Forestry, Agriculture and Land Use and d. Sustainable Tourism, were each moderated by a leading expert in the field. The participants represented various stakeholders and backgrounds and shared input on methodology, approach and priority areas to consider when developing the analytical framework for the project.
