Evaluating Implementation Outcomes of the FRIENDS Program in Lebanon: A School-Based Process Evaluation

Abstract

Description

This entry consists of transcripts from a series of Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) conducted as part of the evaluation of the FRIENDS intervention across participating schools. The FGDs were facilitated with multiple stakeholder groups, including students, parents, teachers, and school supervisors, in order to capture a comprehensive perspective on the implementation process. The transcripts contain both the questions posed by facilitators and the corresponding answers provided by participants. The primary purpose of these discussions was to assess key implementation outcomes, particularly Adoption and Maintenance of the intervention. The transcripts document participants’ experiences, perceptions, and feedback regarding the delivery, integration, and sustainability of the FRIENDS program within their respective school contexts. The data provide qualitative insights into factors influencing the uptake of the intervention, the extent to which it was maintained over time, and the perceived benefits and challenges encountered by different individuals involved in the intervention.
The file entitled "Friends Qualitative Data.sav" requires SPSS Statistics to be opened.
This dataset contains de-identified data from a school-based randomized controlled trial of the FRIENDS intervention implemented among youth in Lebanon. The dataset supports a process evaluation focusing on implementation outcomes, including reach, implementation, and participant satisfaction. Reach was assessed using attendance records. Implementation was evaluated using facilitator and observer forms, as well as parent and child satisfaction forms. All corresponding data collection tools (facilitator forms, observer forms, and satisfaction questionnaires) are included. The dataset includes a compiled, de-identified file in which all quantitative components are organized as follows: Variables 1–2: Attendance (reach) Variables 3–38: Parent and child evaluations (satisfaction) Variables 39–51: Facilitator evaluation data (implementation) All data have been anonymized to ensure participant confidentiality. Supporting documentation is provided to facilitate interpretation and reuse of the dataset for research and secondary analyses related to implementation and process evaluation of school-based mental health interventions.
