Abstract

Health care industry is always facing a worldwide obstacle which is nursing shortage. Such a problem carries many bad consequences on health care organizations and patients’ outcomes. Different factors contribute to this shortage such as age, job satisfaction, nursing image, shortage of nursing faculty, etc.Employers had different strategies to face the global nursing shortage. Different clinical positions have been created such as clinical nurse leaders, clinical nurse specialists, clinical care coordinators, etc. Therefore, the aim of this project is to introduce a new role in nursing administration into AUBMC entitled as Nursing Recruitment and Retention Specialist. Such a role will be used to select and develop the best recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain the best nursing talents at AUBMC.
