Analysis of Legal Frameworks in Lebanon for Affordable Housing

Abstract

This study provides preliminary legal analysis of the structures and mechanisms available in Lebanon to protect the affordability of housing in perpetuity. They include: the waqf, servitudes, shifa’a pre-emption right, promise-to-sell, joint stock companies, co-owners associations, housing cooperatives.
