Engagement antecedents of individuals in virtual teams
Abstract
How would optimal relationships between team members evolve in the digital era? The current pronounced dependency on technology has created new business functional entities: the virtual teams. Virtual workstation and virtual teams emerge as versatile components in an organizational fabric. This consultancy field project focuses mainly on describing virtual teams and on the antecedents of the engagement binding the human actors of these virtual entities to their project, on the one hand, and to each other, on the other. To examine such emerging relationships, a study was conducted on a typical firm that is dependent on the virtual in its daily business interaction, namely Architecture, Design and Development s.a.r.l. (A.D.D) . This paper proposes a practical framework for the assessment of the engagement antecedents’ of an individual in a virtual team. Based on the results, this field project will present concrete best management recommendations for A.D.D.
