Abstract

Advancing Regenerative Agritourism in the Levant: A Manual of Best Practices provides comprehensive guidance for developing and sustaining regenerative agritourism enterprises in Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine. Developed by the American University of Beirut – Nature Conservation Center for the Palestinian Heritage Trail, with support from Oxfam, this manual targets agritourism entrepreneurs, farmers, local communities, and instructors. It covers foundational concepts of agritourism, practical steps for business planning, activity selection, safety, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship. The manual emphasizes regenerative tourism principles, sustainable agricultural practices, climate change adaptation, community engagement, and effective communication strategies. It also includes checklists and best practices for monitoring, evaluation, and workforce development through Green TVET. The manual aims to foster economic growth, cultural preservation, and environmental resilience in rural communities across the Levant.

Description

This manual was developed in 2025 by the American University of Beirut – Nature Conservation Center for the Palestinian Heritage Trail, with financial support of Oxfam.
