Research confirms that student achievement is directly affected by the quality of teaching staff and school leadership, therefore, the consultancy project “Improving Student Outcomes through Setting Solid Teaching Body Foundations” was carried out for a school in the Middle East region with the aim of improving teacher’s quality and engagement intervening in 3 directions: (1) revamping the type of structure which is most efficient for the school; taking into consideration the culture, school governance and the ultimate objective of the school; (2) evaluating current job descriptions and developing new ones which are in line with the school’s mission and objectives while bench marking them with best practices; (3) developing a competency framework and rubric for teaching staff to help promote quality teaching. The consultancy project followed an iterative and rigorous process where information was gather and analyzed. Data triangulation was adopted. Information and feedback was received from multiple sources, different groups and through various data collection methods. As a result, the structure, job descriptions and frameworks were developed.
