| dc.description.abstract | Given increasing demand for health services and increasing costs of such services, health care units are under high pressure to increase throughput in order to meet the demand while ensuring high quality and low cost of services. This project investigates the operational efficiency of two radiology units at AUBMC, the CT (computed tomography) and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) units. The investigation of each unit is based on on-site observations during which detailed data about performed procedures has been collected. Utilization of resources is computed and an analysis of inefficiencies is presented for each unit. Possible solutions of inefficiencies and further work are also discussed. | |
