As part of Open Access Week 2021, The AUB University Libraries planned the following webinars: Webinar 1: Introduction to Open Access Publishing Date: Monday, October 25, 2021 Time: 11:00am - 12:30pm Speakers: Nabila Shehabeddine- Head of Jafet Library Reference and Instruction Services Dr. Ola El-Zein- Head of Saab Medical Library Speakers talked about Open access, different types, predatory journals, how to access and assess open access journals using journal metrics and other research tips. Webinar 2: Increased Research Impact and Equity through Self-Archiving Date: Tuesday, October 26, 2021 Time: 10:30am - 11:30am Speaker: Dalal Rahme- Data Services Librarian In this session, attendees learned about ways to increase the visibility of their research. The speaker talked about the services provided through AUB scholarworks to AUB's research community. Webinar 3: The Open Educational Resources Initiative at AUB Date: Wednesday, October 27, 2021 Time: 10:30am - 11:30am Moderator: Dalal Rahme- Data Services Librarian Speakers: Joyce Aways- Research and Instruction Services Librarian Salpy Naalbandian- Head of Science and Agriculture Library Khaled Noubani- Head of Engineering and Architecture Library This session introduced the Open Educational Resources (OER) Initiative to AUB community. We spoke about OER, how to Retain, Reuse, Revise, Remix and Redistribute content for educational purposes. Our Science librarian introduced OER available for the Science. Our Engineering Librarian introduced OERs available for the Engineering School. We invite all faculty members to attend this session’s recording to see how they can incorporate OERs into their course materials. We also invite students who can voice their concerns and learn how they can become active participants in the creation of their course materials.
