With the aim of building solidarity and consensus in a diverse and multicultural environment, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung’s Regional Political Feminism and Gender Office and The Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship partnered in developing this publication. The publication seeks to strengthen the feminist movement, build broader and more inclusive communities, and reinforce a transnational intersectional coalition in Southwest Asia and North Africa (MENA) region. Amidst great social, political, and economic tensions, activists, scholars, and organizations from 12 countries in the region worked together to analyze and comprehend conflicting emotions such as outrage, despair, confusion, breakdown, hope, and perhaps even feelings of hopelessness in the face of harsh realities that many may be reluctant to confront. A total of 48 feminists from diverse backgrounds voiced their demands and claims, shared their fears and reflections, and challenged deeply entrenched societal norms and a patriarchal status quo. Their insights and experiences are reflected in this publication.en_US
