dc.description.abstract This project describes the background and the significance of starting early mobility in critically ill patients. A literature review of the complications of immobility, the barriers to its early implementation, the clinical outcomes associated with early mobility in critical illness and examples of available early mobility protocols has been conducted. Development of the suggested early mobility protocol was then described in line with the conducted literature review and the American University of Beirut. Finally , a plan for implementation and evaluation of the developed protocol was proposed taking into account the importance of multidisciplinary coordination and team work for creating a culture that supports early mobility in this patient population.
