dc.description.abstract In Tyre’s recent development, the city grew away from its waterfront, reinforcing a connection to its hinterland rather than its waterfront. Before the city’s expansion, Tyre had a more intimate connection to the sea. The waterfront was the main cultural hub which hosted various seas activities and festivals that animated life in to the city by attracting visitors. Moreover Archeological excavation created a spatial boundary between the city’s main cultural sites and seaside, leading to the disconnection of the tourists who visit such heritage sites from the residents and their rituals in the old City and on the waterfront.
