dc.description.abstract In this day and age, the importance of managing talent within an organization is fundamental to not only the success of the organization but to creating and maintaining a competitive advantage in any industry. Most of the research currently available has been derived from information gathered from the private sector and mainly the Global North. As such, the aim of this study is to critically evaluate the role and benefits of talent management in supporting international organization effectiveness. Moreover, the research gathered will help identify initiatives to improve the effectiveness of employees working, and work processes in international organizations, specifically at the UNDP Country Office in Lebanon. In order to accomplish this objective, semi-structured interviews along with an assessment of UNDP organization policy documents were used to collect the necessary information needed for analysis. The results of the study revealed that proper talent management has strong implications on employees levels of engagement and retention, and on an organizations ability build a competitive advantage via human capital. All these factors paired together work towards improving both the effectiveness of employees along with the work processes in organizations.
