Abstract:
The following Thesis Project is a year-long research and design framework based on a case study in Sour. The initial framework will attempt to reveal the layers of forbidden spaces that govern a certain building in Sour: Sex, Politics, and Religion. Anonymity is in how the socially coded spaces are distributed around and inside the building, which encourages investigation and new conclusions towards reappropriating socially coded spaces within a generic architecture. Applying a formal deconstruction process, injected with the social coding the building transforms to a vertical city, rather than being re-interpreted and having its taboo functions veiled.
