Abstract:
We are now part of The Digital Scaffold, a realm that is not completely physical, nor totally digital, and that we still don’t fully understand: it is E-soteric. Initially, it was the role of the architect to cater for the relationship between User and Space. But in our current context, this space of togetherness is only accessed by leaving the Body behind, which means that these changes had little impact on Architecture.
Now, I am not interested in how the Digital can enhance Architecture in terms of representational tools. What I am interested in is investigating the role that Architecture can play in the surge of this new Power Structure. The answer lies in understanding how this new type of Space can be constructed with Data as its raw material. As such, this Thesis embodies a forensic type of work towards framing an enhanced relationship to the Digital. Ultimately, the narrative is threefold: Architecturizing, Empowering, and Inhabiting are enmeshed to form a holistic structure of the E-soteric Space.
