dc.description.abstract During the 2008 financial crisis, banks went bankrupt, governments went into severe deficits, people lost their jobs, companies shut down, and industries lost billions of dollars, inflation, political instability, social chaos and much turbulence striking different aspects of our lives. Lebanon as an exception surpassed this crisis without any of the turbulences above, leaving the world with a big surprise. This fact have motivated me to highlight what the Lebanese Central Bank did differently than the Federal Reserve System of the United States that helped it overcome the 2nd largest Recession in our time and thus write this project which discuss in chapter an introduction about the subject, chapter 2 will contain a brief literature review about central banks in general and monetary policies, chapters 3 and 4 will include the history and an overview of the Lebanese and the U.S central banks respectively, chapter 5 will contain an analysis of the assets and liabilities of both banks, graphically and in literature as for chapter 6 it will conclude what the project contained.
