dc.description.abstract The Bliss Area adjoining the southern edge of AUB campus is a vibrant commercial, entertainment and residential hub highly valued by university faculty and the city inhabitants at large. It has been overtaken in the last two decades by a wave of high rise luxury apartment buildings capitalizing on spectacular campus views, and proximity to a prestigious educational institution. Bliss Street itself, which defines the southern edge of AUB campus, suffers from traffic congestion, while food chain outlets are replacing traditional venues and cafes where faculty, students and literate used to meet.
